Concentrations & Curriculum

The MSN-Leadership program offers two concentrations:

  • Nursing Practice
  • Nursing Education

The MSN- Leadership program is structured in a 100% online format. Students are required to complete 84 hours of clinical practicum.


Master of Science in Nursing- Leadership, Nursing Practice Concentration

The MSN-Leadership in Nursing Practice prepares nurses to expand their career options with a focus on leadership roles at the systems level. Graduates are prepared to assume healthcare leadership positions across the health care continuum, including management positions such in quality improvement, staff/patient education, risk management, research, administration, and strategic planning.

The nursing practice track provides students with strong foundations in strategic management, health care system policy development, outcomes and evidence-base driven practice, financial planning, operations, and creating positive work environments.

Master of Science in Nursing- Leadership, Nursing Education Concentration

The MSN-Leadership in Nursing Education prepares nurses to expand their career options with a focus on nursing education. Graduates are prepared to assume education positions within academic or healthcare institutions.

The nursing education track provides students a foundation in curriculum development, courses design, and program evaluation. Graduates are prepared to utilize evidence-based approaches and frameworks to develop educational programs, implement and evaluate educational programs, and support quality assessment and improvement initiatives and processes.
