Early Admission Options


Direct Admission

The Direct Admission program is available to high school seniors who plan to enroll as first-time freshmen at the University of Louisville and major in nursing. A limited number of spaces are reserved each academic year in the upper division portion of the BSN degree for this program. A minimum of ten spaces are reserved each academic year. These spaces are awarded based on the student's competitive application. Students apply while enrolled in their senior year of high school.


Guaranteed Early Admission

The Guaranteed Early Admission (GEA) program is available to first-year University of Louisville freshmen. Forty spaces are reserved in upper division each academic year for first-year, full-time college freshmen, who enter the University of Louisville in the Fall semester. First-year college freshmen nursing majors are eligible to apply in the spring of their first year of enrollment at UofL for guaranteed admission to a specific semester cohort.


JCPS Health Science Academics Direct Admission Program

Seniors enrolled in the JCPS Health Science Academy; Pre-Nursing Pathway program are eligible to apply to the UofL School of Nursing direct admit program. This program guarantees students admitted as first time freshmen into the lower division nursing program a guaranteed space into the selective upper division portion of the program. One student from each qualifying health science program will be selected by the UofL School of Nursing. In the event an academy does not have a qualified candidate for their spot, additional qualified candidates may be selected from any of the eligible academies.

Qualifying Health Science Academies:

Butler High School, Central High School, Doss High School, Moore High School, Pleasure Ridge Park High School, Seneca High School, Valley High School, Waggener High School
