J-1学生实习项目信息及申请流程

The primary objectives of the J-1 student intern programs are to enhance the skills and expertise of exchange visitors in their academic or occupational fields through participation in structured and guided work-based training and internship programs and to improve participants' knowledge of American techniques, methodologies, and technology.

Participation as a J-1 student intern requires a foreign student to be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree at a postsecondary academic institution outside the United States, whose U.S. internship will "fulfill the educational objectives for his or her current degree program at his or her home institution." A J-1 student intern may participate in a student internship program for up to 12 months for each foreign degree/major. 

Furthermore, internships can only be offered in the following occupational categories:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing;
  • Arts and Culture;
  • 建筑及建筑行业；
  • Education, Social Sciences, Library Science, Counseling and Social Services;
  • 与卫生有关的职业；
  • 酒店和旅游业；
  • Information Media and Communications;
  • 管理、工商、商业和金融；
  • 公共行政与法律；和
  • 科学、工程、建筑、数学和工业职业。

选择标准

如果满足以下条件，学生实习生可以参加J-1学生实习生计划：

  1. 赞助商必须确保实习生具有可验证的英语语言技能，足以在培训环境中日常工作。Sponsors must verify an applicant's English language proficiency through a recognized English language test, by signed documentation from an academic institution or English language school, or through a documented interview conducted by the sponsor either in-person or by videoconferencing, or by telephone if videoconferencing is not a viable option.
  2. 实习项目的赞助商必须核实所有潜在的实习生都是目前在美国以外的学位或证书授予的高等教育机构全日制注册并在他们选择的高级职业领域学习的外国人，或者在交流访问者项目开始日期之前不超过12个月从此类机构毕业。

实习项目赞助商的一般义务

  4. Ensure that the internship programs are full-time (minimum of 32 hours a week).
  5. 评估。为了确保培训和实习项目的质量，赞助商必须制定评估所有实习生的程序。All required evaluations must be completed prior to the conclusion of an internship program, and both the interns and their immediate supervisors must sign the evaluation forms. 申请J-1学生实习生的程序

  1. 赞助部门和学生实习生完成J-1学生实习生申请包和培训/实习安置计划（T/IPP）表DS-7002。
  2. 提交护照照片页复印件。
  3. Submit an official financial affidavit showing proof of finances to cover the cost of attendance (if not funded by UofL).
  4. 将所有文件提交至isss@louisville.edu。
  5. 如果获得批准，DS-2019和DS-7002将被扫描到申请上指定的电子邮件地址。
  6. 一旦学生实习生收到DS-2019和DS-7002，在认证指示处签名。
