J-1项目信息

1. 短期学者． 教授、研究学者或具有类似教育或成就的外国人，进入美国进行短期访问，目的是在研究机构、博物馆、图书馆、高等教育认可的球速体育(亚洲版)在线官网机构或类似类型的机构进行讲座、观察、咨询、培训或展示特殊技能。
2. 教授． 主要目的是在高等教育认可的球速体育(亚洲版)在线官网机构、博物馆、图书馆或类似类型的机构进行教学、讲座、观察或咨询的外国人。教授也可以在赞助者授权的情况下进行研究。
3. 研究学者． 主要目的是在研究机构、企业研究设施、博物馆、图书馆、高等教育认可的球速体育(亚洲版)在线官网机构或类似类型的机构进行与研究项目有关的研究、观察或咨询的外国人。研究学者也可以在赞助者授权的地方授课或演讲。

Procedures to Request a Form DS2019

1. The sponsoring department and exchange visitor completes the Departmental Request Form for DS2019.
2. The sponsoring department administrator will need to login to the Terra Dotta Portal using their Ulink account. Contact isss@louisville.edu if you do not have a Ulink account to access the portal. 登录兵马俑后，选择页面左上角的“新赞助请求”。您将需要部门申请表中的信息来完成此过程。Once submitted, International Services will receive and process the request.

4. Submit an official financial affidavit showing proof of finances to cover the cost of attendance (if not funded by UofL).

Before completing the Departmental Request Form, please read the following Department of State Regulations:

A violation of these regulations can result in the revocation or suspension of the University's exchange visitor program.
For all J-1 programs, exchange visitors are required to pursue the objectives stated in the DS2019 form; any deviation from this is considered a violation of the J-1 regulations.

A visitor may be selected for participation in the Exchange Visitor Program as a professor or research scholar subject to the following conditions:

1. The participant must not be a candidate for a tenure track position;
2. The participant has not been physically present in the United States for all or part of the twelve-month period immediately preceding the date of program commencement set forth on his or her Form DS-2019 unless:

• The participant is transferring to the sponsor's program pursuant to provisions set forth in the regulations;

• The participant's presence in the United States was pursuant to a short-term scholar exchange activity; 和

5 Year Rule- Extensions for Professors and Research Scholars: Programs for Professors and Research Scholars may be approved for up to 5 years. All extensions within the 5 year period are processed by the international office. 可以在DS-2019表的项目结束日期至少30天内向国际办公室提交DS2019的部门申请表来申请延期。

Exchange Visitor Skills List- The Exchange Visitor Skills List is a list of fields of specialized knowledge and skills that are deemed necessary for the development of an exchange visitor's home country. When you agree to participate in an Exchange Visitor Program, if your skill is on your country’s Skills List you are subject to the two-year foreign residence (home-country physical presence) requirement, which requires you to return to your home country for two years at the end of your exchange visitor program. 移民法中的这一要求是基于经修订的《移民和国籍法》第212(e)条。

If the participant has received approval of waiver of the two-year home residence requirement (212(e) Restriction), they are not eligible to receive an extension of their Form DS-2019. Any request for extensions should be completed prior to the Exchange Visitor receiving the waiver.

教授/研究学者上课学分：在J-1签证类别下，交流访问者只能从事兼职学习（每学期不超过6小时）。You may not enroll in a degree-seeking program. 研究学者必须全职从事研究/教学工作。不允许以完成学位为目的的延期。

交换访问者是其本国的医生：如果请求是针对其本国的医生或持有医学博士学位的人，则“5点信”必须填写并与DS2019申请表一起提交。Please note that this letter must be reviewed and signed by the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs before the DS2019 will be issued. 申请“5点信”时，您必须提交DS2019部门申请表和交流访问者的简历或简历副本，并附上“5点信”。

If incidental patient contact is involved, please provide a statement certifying the points listed in the Alien Physician instructions, and obtain approval from the Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs. Note that UofL cannot issue a Form DS-2019 for clinical programs.

短期学者项目：允许最多六(6)个月：不允许延期。Please note that this category is not subject to the “24-month bar” and therefore should be considered if the program period will not exceed 6 months.

在J-1到达UofL后申请J-2 DS-2019表格：如果J-1交流访问者希望在他们到达后邀请他们的家属加入他/她，他们应该向ISSS办公室提交申请DS2019表格以及他们的家属的护照照片页和财务文件的副本。

1) For transfers within the University: The Exchange Visitor must contact their current supervisor/advisor and make the necessary arrangements to request an intra-campus transfer. 新院系必须提交院系申请表，说明校内转学情况，并核实该学者被录取的目的将保持不变。新的DS-2019表格将发给交流访问者，以说明新的活动地点以及项目结束日期和财务方面的任何必要变化。

2)从其他大学转学到我校：除了部门申请表外，请提交访问者当前的DS-2019表格副本，表格I-94信息，护照签证页和J-1转学申请表，证明该学者从其当前大学转学。Also, the sponsoring Department should verify that the primary objective at UofL will be the same as the scholar’s original objective indicated on their Form DS-2019.
